Hidden taxes

Most people think April 15th is “tax day.” You should realize you pay hidden taxes every day.

One of the most obvious hidden taxes is inflation. The government prints money out of nothing, meaning each dollar you have is worth less. As this continues your dollars will become worthless.

I have worked for Municipal (city owned) Utilities for over a decade. I am a journeyman lineman, “B” water treatment plant operator, “D” wastewater operator, and have been a small town Utility Superintendent then City Administrator. I currently work at a city owned power plant.

So I know about hidden taxes that most people don’t realize they are paying. Every time you purchase utilities (water, sewer and electric) you are paying hidden taxes. When Washington passed the laws creating these hidden taxes they did not let you vote on raising your taxes. The EPA regulates your water, sewer and electric. Complying with those regulations costs every utility. These costs are passed along to you the customer.

As these regulations become more stringent, utilities are forced to upgrade their existing infrastructure. Sometimes replacing perfectly good systems.

I live in Missouri. Our state has a Department of Natural Resources that oversees water, wastewater and air quality. The EPA, a federal bureaucracy, decides what rules our local DNR must enforce. They are not always consistent from state to state. If the state agency doesn’t comply, EPA simply takes over as the regulator.

One of the current trends that EPA is pushing is for cleaner wastewater. Many small towns use lagoons to take care of their sewage. Most of these work quite sufficient. But not sufficient to meet EPA’s regulations. This means mechanical plants will have to be built. These will cost you to build, and cost you more to maintain than lagoons.

An good example of too stringent regulations involves our streams, creeks and lakes. Your wastewater plant has very stringent discharge limits. If you have a lot of wildlife in the area and some rain, raw sewage (from the wildlife) will end up in the waterway. Your wastewater plant can be blamed for this very natural situation.

The argument for these regulations is to protect the citizens. This is the same excuse given for all the expensive-to-comply-with regulations. We do not need federal regulations to protect you. We need diligent citizens watchdogging their local utilities. There is no reason best practices couldn’t be posted on the Internet. Then through local meetings, you the citizens could decide if the cost of complying is worth the end result.

As an example, drinking water treatment plants are now required to remove more and more things from the water. I know people who have drank untreated well water all their life and have had no problems. Do we really need some bureaucrat telling us how clean drinking water needs to be?They don’t always have proof that the regulations actually makes people healthier.

A well trained, well managed utility can keep you safe without federal intervention.

Things that need done to eliminate these hidden taxes:

  • Eliminate federal bureaucracies that regulate every phase of our life.
  • Let We the People vote anytime Washington decides to raise our taxes by passing regulations.
    • You get to vote when your local government wants to raise taxes.
      • You should get to vote on hidden taxes called regulations.

In other words, decentralize government. Rein in unconstitutional power from the federal government. Return control of our lives to the States.

EU’s Unraveling Preps Global Currency?

The risk is roughly one in seven that Europe’s ongoing debt crisis will push member nations to abandon the shared currency, raising the spectre of the “effective end of the euro area,” the Economist Intelligence Unit has warned. The pressure on politicians from voters at home to leave the shared currency could become “irresistible”, according to the EIU. – UK Telegraph

Dominant Social Theme: We’re very concerned. Europe’s leaders need to try harder. Otherwise the whole world needs to get together to come up with a solution. Hey, what about some new international money?

Conclusion: We tend to see all this as an orchestration. But then, here at the DB, we track the memes of the elite. We believe that such promotions lie at the heart of the world’s monetary conversation and that the goal of elite manipulation of world events is one-world government headed by the UN. Some may read the Economist article and think it to be a frank appraisal of the potential for the EU’s break up. We read and wonder what they’re REALLY up to …

As Lindsey Williams has been warning:

  • The Euro will collapse first
  • The US Dollar will collapse 2-3 weeks after the Euro collapses.
  • By 2012 the dollar will be dead.

I check Coinflation.com several times a day, watching the price of silver go up and up.

At the top of their page they have links to articles about commodities, inflation, money, etc.

Yesterday there were these 2 links, one must be right and one must be wrong.

Donald Trump = “birther”

Have you ever wanted to throw something at the TV when watching the news?
If not, you haven’t been paying attention. There is no excuse for that.

Have you ever come to an obvious conclusion after watching the news?
And then have them explain it in a totally illogical way?
It makes you question yourself and your logic.
Guess what? Your gut instinct was right.
You’ve been fed a bunch of lies about many, many things.

Here is a prime example of how they work.
Watch Donald Trump basically say; I am rubber, you are glue, whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks to you!

Donald Trump explains how “they,” the media plays us…
The use of the term birther is meant to be derogatory.

They tried to tell Donald that he shouldn’t talk about this issue, it makes him look stupid to the people.

Donald Trump explains, he is a VERY smart man. He has records (and looks forward to making them public) of going to one of the best business colleges in the country, getting high grades and scoring well on his aptitude tests. I have created a business worth billions. Had there been video instead of just him calling on the phone, I’m sure we would have seen him thinking, “What have you done with your life? Who has more credibility? And you’re going to use a derogatory term on ME?”

He said, if I were a journalist, I would break this story. If Barrack Hussein Obama had nothing to hide, why would he spend over 2 million dollars hiding something?
Read that again! If Barrack Hussein Obama had nothing to hide, why would he spend over 2 million dollars hiding something?
One more time to help it really sink in… If Barrack Hussein Obama had nothing to hide, why would he spend over 2 million dollars hiding something?
How logical is that? Totally logical.

How logical is the media saying you are stupid if you think that way? Talk is cheap, answer this question and then we can talk…
If Barrack Hussein Obama had nothing to hide, why would he spend over 2 million dollars hiding something?

The “journalists” (puppets) come back and say, Don’t you think Hillary and McCain would have used that against him if they thought it were true?
My mind immediately said, They are life long politicians and have many skeletons in their own closet to be blackmailed with.

Maybe “they” don’t have anything against Donald Trump. If so, he may be America’s last great hope to stand up against those who would like to transform America into a socialist democracy instead of our Constitutional Republic.

I know Donald Trump made a bad first impression to we who love Ron Paul ideals. Unfortunately, he probably was speaking truth when he said Ron Paul can’t get elected president. Too many people are asleep at the wheel. Too many people have no clue about the coming New World Order. Too many people refuse to accept the fact that…

Is it a conspiracy or is it real?

It’s an inconvenient fact that

Maybe Donald Trump is the man to stand up to the “powers that be?”
Someone must before it’s too late.
I’m keeping an open mind about Donald.

Liberty Defined: 50 Essential Issues That Affect Our Freedom

This is the Appendix to Ron Paul’s new book,
Liberty Defined: 50 Essential Issues That Affect Our Freedom

  1. Rights belong to individuals, not groups; they derive from our nature and can neither be granted nor taken away by government.
  2. All peaceful, voluntary economic and social associations are permitted; consent is the basis of the social and economic order.
  3. Justly acquired property is privately owned by individuals and voluntary groups, and this ownership cannot be arbitrarily voided by governments.
  4. Government may not redistribute private wealth or grant special privileges to any individual or group.
  5. Individuals are responsible for their own actions; government cannot and should not protect us from ourselves.
  6. Government may not claim the monopoly over a people’s money and government’s must never engaged in official counterfeiting, even in the name of macroeconomic stability.
  7. Aggressive wars, even when called preventative, and even when they pertain only to trade relations, are forbidden.
  8. Jury nullification, that is, the right of jurors to judge the law as well as the facts, is a right of the people and the courtroom norm.
  9. All forms of involuntary servitude are prohibited, not only slavery but also conscription, forced association, and forced welfare distribution.
  10. Government must obey the law that it expects other people to obey and thereby must never use force to mold behavior, manipulate social outcomes, manage the economy, or tell other countries how to behave.

A Competitive State

Federalism is a far better system because, as Professor Charles Fried of Harvard Law School explained, it allows peole to “vote with their feet.” If, for example, the people of Vermont want to outlaw french fries, and the courts say that’s okay, then people who want french fries can go to New Hampshire or Massachusetts to get them. If, on the other hand, the federal government outlaws french fries, you need to leave the country.

The free-market system works because businesses compete for customers. The competition, in turn, drives prices down and quality up. The federal government on the other hand, is a monopoly. Don’t like Social Security? Tough. Can’t get a straight answer from OSHA? Too bad. Don’t ever want to receive Medicare benefits? You’re paying anyway. State competition is the only opportunity we have available to provide citizens with a way to get around the monopoly.

There’s probably nowhere in the country where the benefits of state competition can be seen as much as here in the Northeast. Between New York City, Connecticut’s Fairfield County (“the Gold Coast”), and the greater Boston area, there is a lot of highly concentrated wealth. There are also a ton of taxes. That leaves people like me with a choice: Do I want to live in Manhattan and pay an enormous city income tax (in addition to state and federal taxes), do I want to live in Connecticut and pay only state and federal, or do I want to move my company to New Hampshire and pay only federal income tax? It’s nice to have a choice in tax rates; it would be nicer to have a choice in even more areas.

New Jersey, which has always been a high-tax state, is beginning to see the benefits of being competitive. If Governor Christie is successful in lowering the cost of living and doing business in that state, I can guarantee you that people will flock there. New York will lose more of its tax base and New Jersey will gain. It’s competition at its finest.

Obviously there are certain things that only the federal government can do. We can’t have competing armies or competing judicial systems, but that’s why the federal government exists in the first place. Remember, the list of things they should do is pretty short: national security, judiciary, international relations, and patents and copyrights. Competition among states in those areas would be a disaster. And that, in fact, is a pretty good litmus test for figuring out whether a program or agency should be at the state or national level: If competition would be a bad thing, then the feds should probably have it.

Aside from continually pushing our leaders to ask that question about each and every thing the federal government does, we must also reshape this entire debate. Never lose sight of the fact that we have the Constitution on our side! Others can complain and harass and name-call, but our Framers agreed with us. Progressives have so successfully tarnished the idea of federalism that the default standard now seems to be that power automatically rests with the federal government. If you want local control, you have to fight for it. That’s the opposite of how this should work. The default standard should be that power rests with the states and people. If the federal government wants a new program, agency, or initiative, then they should be forced to make the case as to why that power must reside in Washington. As in a criminal trial, the onus must be on the federal government to demonstrate, beyond a reasonable doubt, that something must be nationalized in order for it to work properly.

The Fairest Tax

No capitation, or other direct Tax, shall be laid unless in Proportion to the Census or Enumeration.
– Article I, Section 9 of the United States Constitution

The Fairest Tax would be to repeal the 16th amendment and return to the original intent of the Constitution as stated in Article 1 Section 9.

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.
– 16th Amendment

How it works now:

  • People pay taxes on their “income” which is nothing more than the exchange or barter of one good (time) for another (money).
    • This is 45% of the taxes collected by the Federal Government.
  • The Federal Government takes their cut (supporting bureaucracies) = waste
    • And dream up uses for this money.
      • They divvy out the moneys as they see best to the various states, directly to citizens (welfare), foreign aid, and the vast number of unConstitutional programs they support.
      • Oh yeah, and they do spend a small percentage of taxes on Constitutional programs such as our military, courts and the such.
  • The States take their cut (supporting bureaucracies) = waste
    • And dream up uses for this money.

This is not a very fair system.

The so-called Fair Tax wants to eliminate the income tax and replace it with a sales tax.

  • Poor people spend 100% of their money = 100% tax
    • Middle class people can maybe save a little and spend the rest = 90% tax
      • Rich people only spend maybe 10% on living = 10% tax.
  • This is a graduated income tax in disguise, but backwards of our current graduated income tax.
    • You did know a graduated income tax is 1 of the 10 planks of the communist manifesto?

The Fairest Tax

  • Abolish the 16th amendment (income tax)
    • Return to Article 1, Section 9 of the Constitution
  • Abolish the 17th amendment (direct election of Senators)
    • Restoring the balance of power between the States and the Federal government
      • as originally established with the Constitution
    • Giving power back to the States to rein in the power of the Federal government.

Results of The Fairest Tax

  • The Federal government could no longer mandate and regulate every phase of our life and businesses.
  • There would be competition among the many states to pursue citizens and businesses.
  • America could be great again.
